Our passionate story began in 1977 in Jerash, 40 KM north of Amman, the capital of Jordan. That is when Antoinette Ramy, a Lebanese entrepreneur and culinary pioneer, known to also known as “Um Khalil”, opened her landmark restaurant in the historical Jordanian city. Um Khalil came from Lebanon, seeking the safety of Jordan, away from the turmoil and conflict of the Lebanese Civil War, to pursue her passion and share her gift with the world.
Her legacy and culinary genius still inspires the remarkable tradition that is carried on by her three nephews today, the Um Khalil trio, pushing the boundaries of the food and hospitality industry and raising the bar for Levantine F&B pioneers and across the entire region.
